News » SUNSHINE FOR NGARA BARAYILast updated 2:22 PM on 1 December 2017
The sun shone brightly for the opening of Ngara Barayi (Listen to Earth) on Friday 24th November. It was wonderful to see so many community members and special guests wandering through this wonderful garden.
The day began with an assembly in the hall followed by an Aboriginal smoking ceremony accompanied by didgeridoo by Gavi Duncan.
The Foini and Roy families provided the school community with morning tea and the canteen treated us all with a taste of traditional Samoan food. Ms Emma McBride visited during the day and was amazed by our wonderful garden.
The school came together at the end of the day in the hall where our staff lead the children in singing of the school song and the Samoan families entertained us with an amazing dance display. The feeling in the hall was just fantastic.
We will all look forward to our next Bidhal Wadhayi Badang Day.
